Nature of the disease:

Ovary is part of the females’ reproductive organ, which produces eggs and sex hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.Ovarian cancer occurs in any part of the ovary when there is a development of cancerous cyst or tumors. Tumors occur when there is an excessive cell or mass in the tissues, which can be, either benign or malignant. Whereas, cyst benign swelling which is characterized by a fluid-filled sac which can be healed or develop into cancer.

Cause:

The main cause of ovarian cancer is still unknown. However, based on different studies it may be caused by different factors such genetic factors or any family history of cancer related diseases, and alcoholic consumptions. Some studies shows that consumption of processed milk had a strong linked with ovarian cancer. Those sterile females have a higher risk in developing such disease.

 

Effects:

It is estimated as one of the deadliest cancer affecting of the female reproductive systems. It is hard to detect in its early stage not until it advances into a much severe stage of cancer leading to death. The ailments such as gastrointestinal- stomach and intestine diseases and indigestion make it difficult to diagnose ovarian cancer. Fertility drugs may as well increases the risk of emergent of the disease and may be reduce after tubal ligation.

The symptoms might be unclear, which includes the following: pain in the lower part of the pelvic area and lower abdomen, abnormal menstrual period, bleeding vagina, weight loss or gain and irritable bowel condition.
